Undergraduate Advising
Faculty advisors perform a vital role in your success
at UNC Charlotte as a student. Advisors are assigned
to help both undergraduate and graduate students majoring
or minoring in English.
Faculty members are designated as undergraduate advisors
each academic term.
Each student who declares a major or minor in English
is assigned an individual advisor. The bulletin board
in the Department of English reception area has a complete
up-to-date listing of advisors at the beginning of each
semester.
In addition, departmental advisors are available for
Monday to Friday walk-in consultations. Be sure to check
the days and times that the advisors are available.
We recommend that students should meet with your advisor
at least once a year to ensure that you are making good
progress toward your degree or certificate, and that
you haven't overlooked any requirements.
Most students would be more than disappointed to think
they are ready to graduate, and then to discover that
they still need a course. Your advisor will help keep
this from happening to you.
Advisors are also available to answer more general questions
or address concerns you have about University-level
course work, time management, prospective careers, and
other support services available on campus.
